Alfalfa Sprout
Alfalfa sprouts are tiny germinated lucerne seeds sold as a thread-like salad garnish with a mild pea-green flavour. They add crunch and living-seed freshness rather than bulk vegetable substance. Scatter on sandwiches and salads; avoid heavy cooking. High surface area means careful washing and short storage. Distinct from mature alfalfa forage—this is the culinary sprout form.
