Ajwain

Ajwain (carom seed) is the small seed of Trachyspermum ammi, tasting of thyme and pepper with thymol pungency. Used in Indian breads, fritters, and digestive spice mixes, almost always cooked. Related in aroma to thyme but botanically a cumin-family seed.
