Sea Vegetable
Chlorella
Chlorella is a freshwater green microalga sold mainly as broken-cell-wall powder or tablets for smoothies and culinary colouring. Flavour is strongly green and vegetal; small amounts colour pasta, sauces, and baked goods. Like spirulina, it is grouped here among water-grown green foods rather than terrestrial vegetables.
