Ogonori

Sea Vegetable

Ogonori

Ogonori (Gracilaria and related red seaweeds) is a crunchy, branching seaweed used fresh or salted in Japanese sunomono, poke-style salads, and Caribbean sea moss drinks when related species are used. Texture is snappy; flavour is mild-marine. Rinse salt-packed ogonori well; dress with vinegar and sesame. Distinct from irish moss though both are red algae.

Also known as: Gracilaria, Sea Moss Salad Weed
