Nuts
Whole Kernel
Whole macadamia kernels are complete style-grade meats sold for snacking, gift tins, and dessert tops—the premium visual form when a cookie or chocolate cluster must show a full ivory sphere. Intact surfaces look luxurious and oxidise a little slower than fine chips. Flavour should be sweet-buttery with a soft crunch; colour should be cream-ivory, not yellow or translucent. Toast gently if desired, cool fully, then pack so residual heat does not soften the bite. Reserve wholes for presentation; use pieces when shape will disappear into batter. Pick out damaged or rancid kernels before service. Store cool or frozen. Check for shell fragments after industrial cracking. Do not grind style-0 wholes into butter unless the recipe truly needs that grade—pieces taste the same once milled.
