Split Kernel

Split kola kernels are the familiar lobed segments of Cola seeds as broken for chewing and hospitality, the form most people actually put in a hand. Fresh splits show cream to pink tones that darken with age. A good split is firm and aromatic in the kola way. A bad split is dried-out, mouldy, or flat. This is social stimulant food, not baking chocolate chips. Store according to fresh versus dried product type. Do not roast for trail mix.
