Nuts
Flour
Shea flour is an uncommon powder from milled shea kernels, far less important than shea butter itself. In West African processing the nuts destiny is usually fat, not cake flour; any flour is secondary or experimental. A good food-grade flour is dry, clearly labelled edible, and free of cosmetic-only industrial residues. A bad flour is anonymous and bitter. Do not assume every shea product is food. If you bake with it, blend sparingly and taste first. Butter remains the true shea hero.

Flour is milled endosperm-dominant carbohydrate unless wholemeal retains bran.
History
Occasional shea kernel flours appeared in experimental food projects.
Food-grade versus cosmetic shea distinctions mattered more as exports grew.
Shea flour stayed marginal beside butter in both Africa and export markets.
