Refined

Refined pine-nut oil is processed to reduce strong aroma and free fatty acids, yielding a milder fat. It is quieter than cold-pressed styles and slightly more stable, though still not a bulk frying oil given cost and remaining delicacy. Use when formulas need pine-seed fat without loud resinous perfume. Taste before dressing a salad if you expected full pine character—refinement may have erased it. Keep sealed and cool; refinement is not immortality. Labels should distinguish refined from virgin cold-pressed when flavour is the point. This is pure fat, not a protein food. Discard any bottle that smells oxidised. For tasting-room pine perfume, buy cold-pressed instead.
