Oboro kombu is thinly planed kombu sheets or soft flakes—slightly broader than tororo, melting into stocks and toppings with deep kelp umami. Another prepared shave of kombu, not a separate seaweed. Use like tororo on rice or in clear soups. Quality shows pale green translucence when well shaved.
