Whole

Whole blueberries are intact berries kept uncrushed for fresh sale, freezing, and garnishes. They should roll freely, show even blue colour, and stay dry in the pack. Whole form is ideal for muffins (toss in flour first), salads, yoghurt toppings, and IQF freezers. Avoid washing until use. Discard leaky or mouldy berries so they do not spoil the rest. Whole frozen berries can go straight into batters; thawing first makes them bleed more.
