Heritage

S tier

Heritage is the landmark primocane red raspberry that made late-summer and autumn raspberry crops practical for growers worldwide—fruiting on first-year canes without needing overwintered floricanes. Berries are medium, firm enough for local markets, and classically sweet-tart with good red colour. Home gardeners adopted Heritage heavily because pruning could be simplified to mowing canes after fall harvest. Excellent fresh, in yogurt bowls, and for freezer packs. Flavour is solid rather than the absolute peak perfume of some floricane connoisseur types, but reliability and season made it transformative. Berries darken and soften if left too long on the cane after full colour.
