NC-1

Fruit

NC-1

A tier

NC-1 is a Canadian-selected pawpaw (Ontario) valued for large fruit, early ripening relative to some southern types, and adaptation thinking for northern edge culture. Flesh is yellow, sweet, and productive in good sites with adequate heat. It expanded named options for growers pushing geographic limits. Useful in cooler pawpaw zones and for earlier local seasons. Still needs summer heat to finish quality. Process soft fruit fast; northern seasons can end abruptly.
