Fruit
Emperor
A tier
Emperor is a very large-fruited lychee cultivar grown in Australia and other warm regions—impressive size, thick aril, and a big seed that comes with the scale. Flavour is pleasant floral-sweet when fully ripe and coloured. It stands out in fruit bowls for dimensions more than for the tiniest seed ratio. Good for showy platters and fresh eating demos. Not always the highest Brix premium Chinese type, but satisfying and photogenic. Handle large fruit carefully to avoid shell cracking.
