Anglo-Nubian

Meat

Anglo-Nubian

B tier

Anglo-Nubian is the British formalisation of Nubian-type dairy goats—long ears, convex profile, and rich milk—used extensively in tropical and temperate smallholder systems. In many Commonwealth countries the name Anglo-Nubian is preferred over American Nubian. Young Anglo-Nubian meat is popular where dairy goats double as household meat animals; flavour is mild-to-medium with soft fat when kids are well fed. The breed adapts to heat better than Swiss dairies, supporting chevon supply in warmer regions.
