Unique is a partially self-fertile New Zealand feijoa—valued because a single tree can set usable crops where space allows only one plant, though partners still help. Flavour is excellent, aromatic, and sweet-tart when soft-ripe. Medium fruit with smooth scooping flesh made it a garden favourite. Ideal for small urban gardens. Still collect fallen fruit daily. Self-fertility is partial—not magic in all climates, but better odds than strongly self-sterile seedlings. Process surplus quickly at peak drop weeks.
