Pineapple Guava

Pineapple guava is the common English trade and landscape name for Acca sellowiana fruit and shrub—same green aromatic feijoa, often sold in US nurseries as an edible ornamental rather than under NZ cultivar names. Flavour still blends pineapple, guava, and cool minty notes when fruit softens. Flowers add strawberry-like edible petals. Treat ripe fruit exactly as feijoa: scoop, chill, chutney. Landscape plants may be seedlings with variable fruit quality—named cultivars beat random hedges. Cold-hardy relative to many tropicals, yet fruit needs enough heat to finish. Label synonymy avoids duplicate identity confusion.
