Nantes carrots are cylindrical with blunt tips, fine cores, and high juice—the gourmet fresh-eating shape. Orange flesh is sweet and tender when grown fast in deep soil. Many bagged “bunching” carrots lean Nantes-type even without the name on the label. Snack raw, glaze whole, or juice. Less woody core than some long Imperators if harvested on time. Gardeners prize true Nantes strains for flavour trials. In mixed dishes, Nantes contributes more than bulk—look for the Cylindrical Blunt note after Raw Snacking finishes and rest time settles flavours.
