Negin is a top Iranian presentation of thick, long, pure-red stigma threads—often considered more beautiful and sometimes stronger in impact than ordinary sargol, with carefully selected fat filaments and no yellow. It is a showpiece grade for gifts and fine dining, still Crocus sativus, distinguished by sorting and cut aesthetics. Aroma is lush and honeyed when fresh. Use where visual threads matter on plated rice or clear consommés. Price sits at the high end of Iranian saffron. Handle gently; long negin threads look spectacular bloomed in a small glass of warm water.
