Wonderful is the dominant California commercial pomegranate—large red fruit, deep crimson arils, assertive sweet-tart balance, and hard seeds that juice superbly. It built the modern US pomegranate juice industry and remains the default whole fruit in North American grocery stores each autumn. Rind is thick and brightly coloured when ripe. Ideal for juicing, aril cups, and holiday tables. Seeds are crunchier than soft-seed dessert types; some prefer it pressed rather than all eaten raw in quantity. Peak California season defines availability for many shoppers.
