Aunt Molly's is a ground cherry type (Physalis pruinosa group) often grown beside cape gooseberries—smaller fruit, husked, with pineapple-strawberry sweet notes and earlier cool-climate production than true P. peruviana. Fruit drops into husks when ripe, inviting ground collection. Flavour is dessert-like and kid-friendly. Home-garden favourite for pies, raw snacks, and unique jam. Not identical to large commercial golden berries but fills the same husked-cherry niche in temperate plots. Collect fallen fruit daily during peak.
