Brazilian black pepper is a major New World production origin with mild-to-medium heat and soft aroma in many commodity lots, used heavily in grinding blends. Pará and Espírito Santo are among known growing areas. It is true P. nigrum—not the invasive Schinus “Brazilian pepper tree.” Fine for everyday grinders and industrial seasoning when cost matters. Blend with more aromatic origins for complexity. Always confirm botanical identity on specialty labels.
