Florunner
A tier
Florunner transformed US peanut production in the 1970s with high yields and runner-type kernels that fed the butter boom. Flavour is the archetype medium roast peanut. Eventually disease pressures pushed successors, but culinary memory remains. Historical lots defined a generation of PB flavour. Modern replacements aim to keep that taste with better agronomy. Still a reference name in peanut breeding history.
