Clemson Spineless

Vegetable

Clemson Spineless

S tier

Clemson Spineless is the 20th-century American standard okra—medium green, ridged pods with reduced spine irritation on plants and pods, bred at Clemson University. Flavour and mucilage are classic Southern okra. Still the default seed for many home gardens. Pick at 3–4 inches for tenderness; use in gumbo, frying, and pickles. Spineless trait improved harvest comfort. The reference green okra cultivar for US growers.
