Fine Powder
A tier
Fine MSG powder is milled so it dusts a crisp, a nut, or a seasoning blend without sparkling crystals that give the game away. Snack plants live on it. It clumps faster than a coarse crystal if the air is wet, and it can cake on a cold fryer-moist chip if you are clumsy. It is the same salt. Over-dusting is easier because the powder vanishes visually before it vanishes gustatorily. Blend it with salt and spice so the dump is even. Not the form for a clear consommé presentation.

History
Snack-seasoning lines asked for milled MSG that would stick and disappear on a crisp.
Fine MSG became a default in barbecue and cheese-powder blends.
Low-sodium snack dusts used fine MSG to keep savoury at lower salt.
Fine powder remained the snack form while restaurants kept larger crystals.
