Dairy
Semi-Skimmed
Semi-skimmed zebu milk is partially reduced in fat—British and European everyday drinking milk band between whole and skim. Lighter than whole while still tasting of dairy. Everyday tea and cereal milk. Foams less richly than whole. Not identical to US “2%” but similar in spirit; check local fat standards. Species character still shows: humped-cattle dairy of tropical regions, flavour varies by breed and feed.

History
Semi-Skimmed zebu milk became a labelled retail fat class as dairies standardised drinking milk.
Health and cooking advice split consumers across semi-skimmed and other zebu milk bands.
Specialty and species zebu milk kept semi-skimmed options where demand allowed.
