Nottingham

Fruit

Nottingham

A tier

Nottingham is a compact British medlar cultivar—smaller tree, reliable crops of classic bletting fruit with good flavour when fully soft-brown. Suits gardens that cannot host large standards. Flesh scoops with the trademark spicy-apple character. Pick firm in late autumn; blett cool and airy. Jam surplus quickly once soft—fermentation waits for no one. Ornamental blossom is a spring bonus. Ideal heritage reintroduction cultivar for UK gardens.
