Centennial
A tier
Centennial is often called “super Cascade”—higher alpha with intense citrus-floral aroma—for bittering and aroma in American ales. It dual-purposes well, reducing the need for separate bittering hops in some recipes. Pine and lemon notes join grapefruit. Use throughout the kettle and in dry hops for West Coast-leaning ales. Blends with Cascade or newer fruit hops. A workhorse craft cultivar since the 1990s.
