Star Ruby is a deep red-fleshed grapefruit with high pigment and relatively sweet perception, developed in Texas breeding. Colour is among the darkest of common reds; flavour aims consumer-friendly. Sensitive growing quirks limited some acreage but fruit quality can be excellent. Showcase red supremes in salads and desserts. Juice is vividly coloured. Handle as premium red grapefruit when available.
