Italia

A tier

Italia is a large seeded white table grape with muscat-leaning perfume, thick pulp, and a Mediterranean market presence—especially Italy and export partners. Berries are oval and golden-green when ripe; the scent lifts it above neutral white table grapes. Seeds require eater tolerance or culinary removal. Serve slightly cool on fruit courses and with soft cheeses that match the floral sweetness. Excellent pressed for aromatic fresh juice. Not a wine superstar in most regions; table quality is the point. Serve slightly cool with soft cheese, or fold halved berries into late-summer salads where perfume can bloom.

History

IT

Italia was bred in Italy (Bicane × Muscat Hamburg) as an aromatic white table grape.

IT

Italian table-grape exports featured Italia as a fragrant seeded white.

Seedless competitors rose, but Italia kept fans for size and muscat perfume.
