Hinnonmäki Red is the red-berried sibling line from Finnish breeding—burgundy-blushed fruit with sweet-tart dessert appeal when fully ripe and attractive jam colour. Hardiness suits cold gardens; flavour is fruity rather than only acidic. Thorns remain part of the harvest ritual. Excellent mixed punnets with green types. Jam runs pink-red; fools look festive. Pick fully coloured for fresh eating. Same open-centre pruning as other Ribes uva-crispa cultivars.
