Egyptian caraway is a major warm-climate commercial origin supplying large volumes of seed for global markets. Flavour is true caraway though sometimes slightly less sweet than top Dutch lots; excellent for high-volume baking and spice blends. Widely available and affordable—check for clean, unbroken seed without chaff. Egyptian caraway works in cabbage dishes, sausages, and supermarket rye-style loaves. Toast to level any raw green notes in average lots.
