Precipitated Calcium Carbonate

Precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) is chemically made, not merely ground rock: a fine, bright, controlled-particle powder used to fortify plant milks, flours, and supplements when you want even suspension and a known elemental calcium number. It is whiter and often smaller than ground limestone. It can leave a chalky echo if the dose is high or the grind is coarse. In a beverage, ultrafine beverage grade may still be a better sip. PCC is the formulator's default when "food-grade chalk" is too rustic a phrase.
