Gwen is a green-skinned, rounded avocado related to Hass breeding lines—pebbly thick skin that stays green, creamy rich flesh, and a compact tree habit useful for denser plantings. Flavour approaches Hass quality without the black ripe cue. Fruit size is medium; oil content is satisfyingly high when properly matured. A backyard and specialty favourite where smaller trees help. Press to test ripeness; colour will not save you. Excellent guacamole avocado when Hass is not on the tree.
