Method
Prepare tin and melt base
- Heat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan).
- Line a 20 cm square tin.
- Melt the butter; whisk in the cocoa and sugar until glossy.
Finish the batter
- Beat in the eggs and salt.
- Fold in the flour until just combined — do not overmix.
Bake
- Pour into the tin and level.
- Bake 22–28 minutes until the top is set and a skewer has a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
Cool and cut
- Cool completely in the tin before cutting into squares.

Storage
