Fruit
Willamette
A tier
Willamette is an older Pacific Northwest red raspberry with dark fruit, strong processing flavour, and a historic role before Meeker fully took over industrial plantings. Berries are medium, aromatic, and soft when fully ripe—built for canning, jam, and freezing more than modern clamshell aesthetics. Gardeners in cool climates still grow it for flavour-first pies. Cook into preserves, sauces for game or duck, and winter freezer bags. Fresh handfuls from the cane are excellent the same day. Expect classic tart-leaning raspberry punch rather than candy mildness.
