Vegetable
Cinderella
A tier
Cinderella pumpkins (Rouge Vif–type flattened shape sold under fairy-tale names) are deeply ribbed, squat, red-orange fruits that look coach-ready and cook with sweeter, denser flesh than tall carving pepo. Skin is hard; flesh is good for soup and puree. Size is medium-large, dramatic on porches and tables. Roast wedges in skin for presentation; puree for autumn soups. Carving is possible but the flat shape yields a different face than tall Jacks. Overlap with Rouge Vif d'Étampes genetics in many markets.
