Moro

Fruit

Moro

A tier

Moro is a deep-pigmented blood orange—often the darkest crimson-violet flesh among common bloods when nights are cool. Flavour is bold, berry-citrus, slightly tart. Sicily and other Mediterranean districts produce dramatic Moros; colour sells as much as taste. Juice for nearly red glasses; segment for stark plate contrast. Peak winter. Warm climates may under-colour. Pair with dark chocolate or bitter greens. In mixed dishes, Moro contributes more than bulk—look for the Deep Blood Pigment note after Deep Red Juice finishes and rest time settles flavours.
