Bermuda Onion

Vegetable

Bermuda Onion

B tier

Bermuda onions are flat, mild, early bulbs historically linked to Bermuda export trade and later to similar flat sweets in warmer districts. Flavour is gentle; shape is characteristically squat rather than globe. They helped popularise mild onion eating in North America before Vidalia-scale branding. Slice raw for sandwiches and use in light cooking. Seasonal and less common than yellow storage types in modern bulk retail. Seek farmers markets or specialty produce for true flat Bermudas.
