Koroneiki

Fruit

Koroneiki

S tier

Koroneiki is Greece’s premier small oil olive—high polyphenol extra-virgin oils with grass, green banana, and lasting pepper, especially from early harvest in the Peloponnese and Crete. Fruit is tiny; oil yield percentage is excellent. Trees handle wind and poor soils that challenge larger-fruited table cultivars. The backbone of many acclaimed Greek extra-virgin brands. Use as a finishing oil on grilled fish, horta, and tomato salads where pungency is welcome. Late-harvest Koroneiki softens but often keeps more structure than mild Arbequina. Not a primary table olive—pit-to-flesh ratio frustrates eating out of hand.
