Nam Doc Mai

A tier

Nam Doc Mai is a Thai mango with elongated pale yellow fruit, thin skin, and exceptionally smooth, non-fibrous flesh that stays firm-sweet rather than melting into mush. Flavour is clean honey-melon with light floral notes and minimal resin—ideal with sticky rice and coconut milk. Often eaten while still slightly firm by Western soft-ripe standards; Thai service may prefer that snap. The classic partner to mango sticky rice; also excellent sliced into salads with chili, fish sauce, and lime when green-tinged. Imports appear in Asian markets under several romanisations. Keeps shape when cubed for plated desserts.
