Kent

Fruit

Kent

S tier

Kent is a large, rounded Florida-bred mango with green-to-yellow skin, modest red blush, and rich, juicy flesh that stays relatively low in fibre for an export type. Flavour is sweet and full with mild resin, excellent both fresh and for juicing. Fruit often weighs heavy in the hand; the stone is moderately large but cheeks cut cleanly when ripe. A supermarket workhorse from Latin America and West Africa into Europe and North America. Ripen at room temperature until fragrant, then chill briefly before slicing. Holds quality better after harvest than many ultra-delicate Indian dessert types, which is why shippers favour it.
