Francis
A tier
Francis (Francique) is a Haitian mango of elongated, somewhat flattened shape with yellow-orange skin and rich, spicy-sweet flesh that many consider among the most flavourful Caribbean types. Fibre is moderate; the stone is long and thin, so cheek yield is generous. Perfume is strong—clove and tropical resin notes under deep sweetness when fully ripe. Sought by diaspora markets and specialty importers; less common in mainstream chains than Tommy Atkins. Eat ripe out of hand or blend into drinks where the spice character shines. Handle gently—skin is thinner and more tender than industrial export cultivars.
