Vegetable
Maxibel
A tier
Maxibel is a French-style bush filet bean producing long, very slender dark pods without needing a pole trellis—haricot vert quality on a compact plant. Flavour is delicate and grassy; pods must be picked thin or they quickly lose elegance. Commercial and garden growers use Maxibel when they want filet beans without staking. Treat as haricot vert: brief cook, whole presentation, butter and herbs. Daily picking is mandatory in heat. Not a bean for mushy casseroles.
