Meat
Toggenburg
B tier
Toggenburg goats from the Swiss Toggenburg valley are among the oldest formal dairy breeds—brown with white facial stripes and sturdy mountain frames. They produce solid milk yields and thrifty kids in cooler climates. Meat from Toggenburg kids is mild and modest in size; cull does need slow cooking. The breed’s culinary role is secondary to cheese and fluid milk, but small farms often roast seasonal kids for local sales and household use.
