Beetal goats of Punjab are large, lop-eared dual-purpose animals—often compared to Jamnapari but distinct in local type—kept for milk and meat across northern India and Pakistan. Coat colours vary; frames are heavy for South Asian village goats. Beetal chevon supplies urban markets with larger joints for curries and grilled boti. Young males are preferred for milder meat; adult culls go into long-spiced dishes. The breed remains a pillar of Punjabi smallholder livestock economies.
