Jackson is a Bourbon-related Coffea arabica cultivar historically important in East Africa, especially Rwanda and surrounding highland zones. Linked to French Mission and Bourbon introductions, it is a tall traditional variety known for sweet, citrusy, and sometimes tea-like cups at elevation. Though partly displaced by disease-resistant hybrids after rust and berry disease pressures, pure Jackson plantings persist on quality-focused farms. Careful washing and drying highlight its clarity; the variety benefits from altitude, shade, and attentive agronomy.
