Ouachita is a University of Arkansas erect thornless blackberry with large berries, high yields, and a sweet, low-acid finish popular in modern fresh programmes. Fruit is firm and attractive in clamshells; canes are vigorous in warm-summer regions. It often outyields older thornless types when managed for primocane and floricane health. Ideal for retail fresh packs, smoothies, and desserts where soft wild berries would collapse. Flavour is friendly to broad audiences—less aggressive tannin than unripe commercial fruit. Pick fully black for best sugar.
