Galloway Belted

A tier

Galloway Belted (Belted Galloway) is a polled Scottish beef breed with a black, dun, or red body and a striking white belt around the midsection. Animals are hardy, thrifty on rough pasture, and produce finely grained, well-marbled beef with a rich, clean flavour when grass-finished—traits that made the “Beltie” a favourite of extensive and regenerative grazing systems. Closely related to the solid-coloured Galloway, the belted type is raised in the United Kingdom, North America, and Australasia as a heritage and specialty beef breed. Carcasses are typically smaller than modern Continentals but reward slow finishing and dry ageing with exceptional eating quality.
