Fruit
Braeburn
A tier
Braeburn offers complex sweet-tart flavour with aromatic depth and firm crisp flesh—bi-colour orange-red over yellow from New Zealand chance seedling fame. More interesting than bland sweets; less purely tart than Granny Smith alone. Good all-rounder for eating fresh and cooking into pies or sauce. Fresh snack, pie blend partner, or sauce with real character. Stores well when grown and picked correctly. Can show bitter pit in some orchards—quality fruit is dense and juicy without internal browning when orchard management is sound.
