Soave

Beverage

Soave

Soave is a Veneto white built mainly on Garganega, with optional Trebbiano di Soave, offering almond, white peach, citrus, and a gentle mineral finish. Classico hillside vineyards on volcanic and limestone soils deliver more density than valley bulk wine; modern quality estates have restored Soave’s reputation after decades of light commercial bottlings. Styles stay largely dry and unoaked, though some premium wines see large neutral wood or extended lees contact for texture. Pair with Venetian seafood, risotto, light pasta, and vegetable antipasti. Soave reduces cleanly for clam sauces and chicken with lemon; almond notes echo toasted nuts in the dish. Choose Classico or single-vineyard bottles when cooking for guests—the extra mid-palate substance survives heat better than dilute entry-level wine.
